unknown. The general form of a quadratic equation in two unknowns is:
Ax2 + Bxy + Cy2 + Dx + Ey + F = 0.
quadratic formula: the formula that says that the solution to the equation ax2 + bx + c = 0
x = -b + - (b2 - 4ac)
quadrilateral: a polygon with 4 sides.
quartic: a polynomial of degree 4.
quintic: a polynomial of degree 5.
quotient: the answer to a division problem.
